Upon his arrival at the airport, the top Omani diplomat was received by senior officials, including the Additional Secretary of the Economic Affairs Division and the Additional Secretary for the Middle East from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his stay in the Pakistani capital, Foreign Minister Albusaidi is set to lead the Omani delegation at the eighth session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

The high-level diplomatic engagement will feature comprehensive bilateral discussions between Foreign Minister Albusaidi and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The talks are aimed at reviewing the existing spectrum of bilateral relations and exploring expanded avenues for trade, investment, and institutional collaboration between the two nations.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties Through the Pak-Oman JMC

The 8th session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission serves as a premier institutional mechanism designed to boost economic, commercial, and technical cooperation. Both delegations are expected to evaluate the progress of previous agreements and set new targets for bilateral partnership across multiple sectors, encompassing energy, maritime cooperation, and joint ventures.

Diplomatic observers note that the visit takes place against the backdrop of wider regional developments in the Middle East, rendering consultations between Islamabad and Muscat vital for regional stability and economic coordination. Pakistan and Oman share long-standing fraternal ties rooted in historical, cultural, and religious affinities, alongside close cooperation in regional and international forums.

In addition to co-chairing the ministerial commission meetings, the Omani foreign minister’s itinerary includes holding delegation-level negotiations and interacting with key Pakistani economic decision-makers. The structured dialogue seeks to translate mutual political goodwill into tangible economic outcomes, benefiting the business communities and peoples of both countries.

The two-day visit is scheduled to conclude on October 14 following the finalization and signing of collaborative understandings arising from the Joint Ministerial Commission proceedings. Both ministries are expected to issue a joint statement summarizing the key outcomes and future roadmaps agreed upon during the Islamabad sessions.
