ISLAMABAD, September 25: Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday rejected claims by Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence that Afghan forces had destroyed a Pakistani post near Spin Boldak without taking casualties, describing the assertion as “fake and fabricated.”
According to the ministry, Pakistani forces thwarted an attempted military intrusion by Afghan troops in the Gulistan sector overnight between September 24 and September 25.
During the military engagement and subsequent actions targeting opposing Taliban positions, at least 13 Afghan Taliban personnel were killed and several others were wounded, the ministry stated.
The ministry noted that visual footage of the engagement was attached to its release, adding that the material had already received wide coverage across news media and social platforms as evidence of the action against Afghan Taliban positions.
Dismissing Kabul’s narrative as an effort to frame official Pakistani statements as propaganda, the ministry said the Afghan defense ministry’s attempt to present a conflicting account was unsurprising, characterizing the Taliban as “habitual liars with no moral or reputational standing.”
”Truth prevails over falsehood,” the ministry said.

Background
The Gulistan sector is located along the border area adjacent to the Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan’s Kandahar province and Pakistan’s Balochistan province, near the primary Chaman border crossing point [VERIFY: Reuters / Dawn].
Cross-border security incidents along the 2,640-kilometer (1,640-mile) Durand Line have recurred periodically following the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in August 2021. Clashes between border security personnel have previously led to temporary closures of key commercial transit points .
Islamabad has consistently urged Kabul to prevent militant groups, including the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), from using Afghan territory for cross-border attacks, a charge the Taliban administration routinely denies.
