Ambassador Moin ul Haque has assumed charge as Director-General of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI). He took over from Ambassador Sohail Mahmood upon completion of his term.

Ambassador Moin ul Haque brings with him vast experience of diplomacy and high-level decision-making. He served in the Foreign Service of Pakistan for nearly 35 years on key assignments both at Headquarters and Missions abroad. His last assignment was Pakistan’s Ambassador to China (2020-2023). Prior to that, he also served as Ambassador to France (2016-2020) and Consul General in Vancouver (2007-2010).
He has also served as Additional Secretary (Administration), Chief of Protocol, Director-General (Europe) and Director (Foreign Secretary’s Office).
Earlier in his diplomatic career, he served in Pakistan Embassies in Brussels, Colombo, Ankara and also as a Counsellor at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.
