RAWALPINDI, October 07: Pakistan’s military leadership held talks with a senior Belarusian security official in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to broadening military and security cooperation between the two nations.

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with a high-level Belarusian delegation led by State Secretary of the Security Council Lieutenant General Aleksandr Volfovich at General Headquarters (GHQ).
According to an official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, the discussions centered on the evolving international and regional security environment, broad matters of mutual interest, and the existing scope of bilateral security linkages.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s intent to deepen defence engagement with Minsk, emphasizing the strategic importance of expanding ties across security domains.
Lieutenant General Volfovich reciprocated the commitment to advance security cooperation, acknowledging Pakistan’s operational contributions toward regional peace and stability.
Pakistan Belarus Defence Ties Focus on Bilateral Cooperation Frameworks
The interaction highlights ongoing efforts by both nations to structure military dialogue. Institutional mechanisms, including the Pak-Belarus Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Technical Cooperation (MTC), serve as operational channels to evaluate joint defense production, technical exchanges, and military training exercises.
In addition to military leadership exchanges, Lieutenant General Volfovich met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad. The broader diplomatic engagement underscores efforts by both capitals to align institutional cooperation across executive, security, and diplomatic tiers.
