Commander National Strategic Command General Aamer Raza warned that any military miscalculation by adversaries will be met with overwhelming force, following provocative statements from Indian defense officials regarding cross-border tensions.

KAKUL, October 17, 2026: Commander National Strategic Command (CNSC) General Aamer Raza issued a stern warning to Pakistan’s adversaries on Saturday, declaring that any hostile miscalculation would trigger a decisive and overwhelming military response.
Addressing the passing-out parade of cadets of the 154th Long Course at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, General Raza emphasized that national defense remains unwavering and fully prepared to protect the country’s territorial integrity.
“To those who harbour hostile designs across our borders, our stance remains resolute and unambiguous. There is no space for conflict or war in a nuclearized environment, and any miscalculation will be met with a response far beyond the imagination or calculation of the initiator,” General Raza stated during his address to the newly commissioned cadets. He reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces stand fully committed to defending every inch of the homeland under all circumstances.
The strategic commander’s warning follows recent provocative statements made by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. According to reports from the Indian news agency ANI, Singh warned Pakistan on Thursday that any fresh militant activity originating from across the border would invite a military strike larger than previous actions.

General Raza also drew attention to the shifting nature of modern security challenges, noting that adversaries in the contemporary “post-truth era” attempt to divide the public and the armed forces through targeted disinformation campaigns and narrative warfare. He asserted that following the setbacks encountered during Operation Sindoor, hostile entities have sought to undermine Pakistan’s social cohesion and state infrastructure through proxy terrorism and sub-conventional tactics.

Pakistan Foreign Office Condemns Belligerent Rhetoric
The military leadership’s remarks coincided with a strong diplomatic rebuke from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad. Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan formally condemned the remarks made by the Indian defense minister, labeling them as reflections of a persistent hegemonistic mindset that threatens regional stability in South Asia.
“Pakistan rejects and condemns the Indian defence minister’s provocative remarks entailing a threat of Indian aggression against Pakistan. Such reckless statements reflect India’s hegemonistic mindset and the risk its belligerent posture poses to regional peace and stability in South Asia,” Spokesperson Haider Khan said in an official statement.
The Foreign Office reminded New Delhi of the military escalation that occurred in May of the previous year, during which Pakistan’s armed forces demonstrated their operational readiness and strategic resolve in safeguarding national sovereignty. The spokesperson underscored that Islamabad’s ongoing commitment to peace and regional stability should not be misconstrued as a sign of military weakness.
“We wish to remind India of the consequences of its military aggression in May last year, when Pakistan demonstrated both its capability and resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and gave a befitting response and reply to Indian aggression,” the spokesperson stated, adding that there should be no ambiguity regarding the country’s defensive preparedness.
Addressing the graduating cadets at Kakul, General Raza urged the young officers to remain steadfast, disciplined, and immune to hostile propaganda and psychological warfare. He emphasized that safeguarding national unity and sovereign inviolability remains an absolute imperative for the nation’s armed forces as they navigate complex regional security dynamics.
